How our Program Lead Susanna got into Columbia University

My name is Susanna and I got into Columbia University because I found a way to communicate my identity to the admissions board in a way that felt authentic and comfortable to me at the time. I did this through my personal statement and supplementary essays, which I drafted over and over again. I also had the input of some really wonderful friends and teachers to guide me through the process to express myself in a way I was proud of. At the time, I was also very aware of what I was interested in and how this related to my background, personality, desired majors, and general hobbies--and I think this self reflection really helped me (and the schools I was applying to!) identify why I would be a good fit in an environment like Columbia.
