Ivy Camps USA: Ivy Global Citizen Program with American Youth Academy

Program Logistics 

• Start Date: February 11, 2023
• Day of the Week: Saturday
• Duration: 15 weeks
• Time: 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM Eastern Time (1.25 hours every week) 
• Grades: 3-8
• Group Size: 6-8 students per group, with all students in each group belonging to a similar age and grade level 

Program Description

Students in this program will be exploring our "Building a Better World" curriculum, where they will learn: 

• Develop cultural and situational awareness in spoken communication
• Explore how to navigate a conversation while in agreement or disagreement with others
• Explore effective teamwork, management, and problem-solving
• Use the Stanford Design Cycle (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test) to identify a problem and build a solution (with the intention of making the world a better place for others)

Skills Developed: Active Listening, Collaboration, Communication, Confidence, Creative Thinking, Cultural Awareness, Empathy, Public Speaking, Questioning
Final Project: Using the Stanford Design Cycle, students will create a solution to a real-world problem.
